PLAGIARISM
An-Nida: Journal of Multidisciplinary Scientific maintains a strict policy against plagiarism and academic misconduct. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original, free from plagiarism, and must not have been published or under consideration elsewhere.
- Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct plagiarism: Copying another author's work word-for-word without proper citation.
- Self-plagiarism: Republishing the author’s own previously published work without acknowledgment or citation.
- Mosaic plagiarism: Paraphrasing another author’s content without proper attribution, even if the words are changed.
- Improper citation: Failing to properly cite sources or credit ideas, images, or data used in the manuscript.
- Fabrication or falsification of data, sources, or research results.
- Screening and Detection
- Every manuscript submitted to An-Nida will be screened for plagiarism using reliable software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar).
- The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, excluding bibliography and properly quoted material.
- Any single source should not exceed 3% similarity unless it’s a direct quote with proper citation.
- Editorial Action on Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process (before or after acceptance), the following actions will be taken:
- Minor plagiarism (under 20%): The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision and proper citation.
- Major plagiarism (20% or more): The manuscript will be rejected immediately without further review.
- If plagiarism is found after publication, the article may be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued on the journal’s website.
- Authors involved in serious plagiarism may be banned from future submissions to the journal for a specified period.
- Author Responsibility
- Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscript.
- By submitting to An-Nida, authors declare that their work is entirely original, and that any work or words of others have been appropriately cited or quoted.
- Authors are also responsible for obtaining permission for the use of any third-party copyrighted material.
- Ethical Oversight
The editorial team adheres to COPE guidelines in handling suspected cases of plagiarism and will provide fair, confidential, and timely investigations in all allegations.
